Position Overview

The BIM/VDC Manager is a strategic, hands‑on leader responsible for building, implementing, and scaling the company’s BIM/VDC function across four regional offices. This is a builder role—ideal for someone who thrives in environments where they can establish standards, develop processes, and shape a digital construction program from the ground up. The BIM/VDC Manager will drive digital transformation, lead model‑based coordination, and ensure that technology enhances project delivery across all regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • BIM/VDC Strategy — Develop and execute a multi‑office BIM/VDC roadmap, including standards, workflows, and long‑term digital strategy.

  • Function Build‑Out — Establish the BIM/VDC function across four regional offices, including staffing recommendations, process development, and technology rollout.

  • Model Management — Oversee creation, maintenance, and quality control of 3D models across all disciplines and regions.

  • Coordination Leadership — Lead clash detection, coordination meetings, and issue resolution to eliminate field conflicts.

  • Technology Integration — Implement and manage digital tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Synchro, BIM 360/ACC, and other VDC platforms.

  • BIM Execution Plans — Create, maintain, and enforce BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and modeling requirements across all offices.

  • Team Training — Train project teams, regional staff, and trade partners on BIM/VDC tools and workflows.

  • Cross‑Regional Collaboration — Ensure alignment and consistency across all four offices through regular communication, audits, and shared best practices.

  • Data & Documentation — Ensure accurate model data for quantity takeoffs, 4D/5D simulations, and project reporting.

  • Innovation — Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance efficiency and project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Education — Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience — 7–10 years of BIM/VDC experience, including leading or building BIM/VDC programs.

  • Multi‑Office Leadership — Proven ability to scale processes, standards, and technology across multiple locations.

  • Software Skills — Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, and related tools.

  • Technical Knowledge — Strong understanding of BIM standards, LOD requirements, and model‑based workflows.

  • Leadership — Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive organizational change.

  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience implementing BIM/VDC programs in multi‑office or multi‑region environments.

  • Familiarity with 4D/5D modeling, reality capture, and laser scanning.

  • Knowledge of COBie, IFC, and open‑standards data exchange.

  • Experience with Lean Construction and digital field workflows.
