We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our team in Ensenada, Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily activities of the cost accounting department. The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in general accounting, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position offers an excellent opportunity to facilitate cross-functional collaboration, solve problems, and think innovatively. This position reports to the Cost Accounting Manager.
Essential Functions:
Performs journal entries, reconciliations, and other month-end close duties
Completes standard cost rolls
Maintains the Cost Accounting inbox and processes cost requests
Ensures adherence to Standard Costing Policy and Procedures
Performs standard cost variance analysis
Compiles and reviews purchase price variances
Identifies and implement process improvements
Performs ad-hoc financial analysis
Collaborate with internal employees across a variety of departments
Serves as a liaison with the external audit team to ensure the timely delivery of audit requests
Manages multiple projects with a focus on meeting critical deadlines
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
1-2 years of accounting experience
SAP experience within the manufacturing industry preferred
Ability to independently manage tasks with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Professional proficiency in English
Proficiency in MS Office
Advanced MS Excel skills
Experience in Microsoft Access databases preferred
Experience working collaboratively across departments and functional areas
This position is onsite and located in Ensenada, MX
