OVERVIEWAPPLICATION

Description

Gramian Consultancy is a boutique consultancy specializing in IT professional services and engineering talent solutions. With a strong background in software engineering and leadership, we help companies build high-performing teams by matching them with professionals who truly fit their needs.

Role Overview

We’re seeking senior Software Engineers with a strong background in Data Engineering and Data Science to support benchmark-based evaluation initiatives focused on real production-style data workflows. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with realistic datasets, pipelines, and analytical tasks to help measure and advance the capabilities of modern AI systems.

The ideal profile combines practical data engineering experience with data science fundamentals and is comfortable moving across data ingestion, transformation, analysis, and experiment-driven development within real-world codebases.

NOTE: In this project you will not build a project, but specifically generate data to improve model performance for one of the biggest foundational model companies.

Duration: 3 months

Commitment: 40h/week, 4h/day overlap with PST

Model: Contract, time and material

Location: 100% Remote: India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Bangladesh, Turkey, Mexico

Interview: 75 min async test

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle both structured and unstructured data as part of SWE Bench–style evaluation scenarios

  • Design, implement, and validate data pipelines used in benchmarking and experimentation

  • Perform data preparation, feature engineering, analysis, and validation for applied data science use cases

  • Write, execute, and adapt Python code locally to support data processing and experimental workflows

  • Review datasets and transformations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reproducibility

  • Build clean, reusable, and well-documented data workflows suitable for benchmarking environments

  • Participate in peer code reviews, maintaining high standards for code quality and maintainability

  • Work closely with researchers and engineers to design realistic, challenging data engineering and data science tasks for AI evaluation

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of overall experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or Software Engineer (data-focused).

  • Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering and data science workflows.

  • Demonstrable experience with data processing, analysis, and model-related workflows.

  • Solid understanding of machine learning and data science fundamentals.

  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data.

  • Ability to understand, navigate, and modify complex, real-world codebases.

  • Experience writing readable, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, including experience with algorithmic or data-intensive problems.

  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

Benefits

  • Work in a fully remote environment.

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects with leading LLM companies.

Be cautious! Do not send money to a potential employer. Do not pay any money for a potential contract of employment or for pre-employment training.

Job Summary

Support AI evaluation projects by generating and processing real-world datasets. Design, implement, and validate data pipelines, perform feature engineering, and contribute to model benchmarking workflows in a fully remote, contract-based role with top AI companies.
