Capitolis is looking for a passionate, experienced and curious DevOps Team Lead to lead a team of engineers while remaining hands-on in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex financial infrastructures in a highly regulated environment. The role is a mix of ~30% team leadership and ~70% hands-on engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership (~30%)
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps engineers, including 1:1s, performance feedback, and professional development
Own team planning, prioritization, and delivery of infrastructure roadmaps
Represent the team in cross-functional discussions and communicate complex solutions to stakeholders
Drive best practices, standards, and knowledge-sharing across the team
Hands-on Engineering (~70%)
Enhance business continuity of Production systems in the finance sector
Develop and deploy critical infrastructure changes to Production
Deploy & manage advanced security solutions to protect high-value trades and transactions
Support an exactly-once, zero-data-loss transaction processing system
Deploy and maintain infrastructure automation and configuration management tools
Design and implement orchestration solutions for dozens of containerized micro-services
Support, improve, and upgrade a continuous deployment environment
Support, improve, and update the DevOps technology stack: AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, Python, ELK & more
Who You Are
At least 10 years of industry experience in R&D/QA/IT
At least 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, including some experience leading or mentoring others
Hands-on experience supporting business continuity of Critical Production Systems
Proven experience delivering & communicating complex solutions to stakeholders
Corporate Information Security hands-on experience
Broad understanding of networking
Experienced with continuous integration tools
Experience with IaC of a cloud provider (preferably Terraform & AWS)
At least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Groovy, Bash)
Experienced with Kubernetes, Docker container management and orchestration
Experience in Windows & Linux server system administration – a plus
Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills in English
Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable balancing leadership with hands-on delivery
Nice to Have
BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
Experience with CI/CD integrations with SCM and code review tools
Experience with Helm Charts
Experience with ArgoCD
Experience with Cloud Cost reduction
Proven Database Administration experience
Familiarity with database security best practices
