Founding Engineer (Full-Stack)

Salary Not Disclosed
San Francisco

About the Role

We're a seed-stage, Y Combinator–backed AI marketing automation company building a full-funnel platform that automates market intelligence, content production, campaign management, and analytics for enterprise brands. Our technology replaces manual campaign execution with intelligent, AI-driven automation — helping marketing teams improve return on ad spend, lift conversion rates, and dramatically cut production costs.

We're looking for a Founding Engineer (Full-Stack) to join our small, high-ownership team on-site in San Francisco. This is a foundational role: you'll work directly alongside the founding team, shape the architecture, and own features end-to-end from concept through deployment and maintenance.

What You'll Do

  • Take full ownership of features across the entire stack — frontend, backend, infrastructure, and data.

  • Build and maintain frontend experiences using Vue.js / Nuxt.

  • Develop robust backend services with Node.js and TypeScript, including event-driven background jobs via Inngest.

  • Architect and manage PostgreSQL schemas (via Supabase), ensuring data integrity and performance.

  • Manage deployments and infrastructure on Render and maintain dedicated deployments on Microsoft Azure.

  • Integrate AI agents and language model workflows using LangGraph and LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google).

  • Collaborate closely with the operations team and customers via Slack and Notion to keep solutions tightly aligned with real user needs.

  • Contribute to product thinking, applying user-centric design principles across the full product lifecycle.

  • Work with Linear, GitHub, Slack, and Notion as core collaboration and delivery tools.

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience delivering full-stack web applications in production.

  • Hands-on, proven experience with TypeScript / Node.js backend development.

  • Solid command of PostgreSQL — schema design, query optimization, data integrity.

  • Experience owning end-to-end features or projects, from initial concept through deployment and ongoing maintenance.

  • Frontend development experience with Vue.js + Nuxt or React / Next.js.

  • Willingness and ability to work on-site in San Francisco (relocation required if not already local).

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience deploying and managing applications with Render and Inngest; familiarity with Microsoft Azure deployments.

  • Previous exposure to marketing technology, AdTech, or digital advertising platforms.

  • Experience integrating language models and AI/ML APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.).

  • Familiarity with serverless workflows or event-driven architecture (e.g., Inngest).

  • Comfort working directly with customers and translating feedback into product decisions.

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Are energized by early-stage ambiguity and the chance to shape a product from the ground up.

  • Prefer breadth and ownership over narrow specialization.

  • Are a self-starter who moves fast, communicates openly, and takes pride in shipping things that matter.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $175,000 – $200,000 USD per year

  • Equity participation at a founding-team level

  • Visa sponsorship available

Location

This role is on-site in San Francisco, CA. We work together in person — this is not a remote or hybrid position. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.
