Job Role
Adams Clinical is a rapidly growing research site network specializing in late-phase industry-sponsored trials of novel treatments for psychiatric and neurological conditions, supporting both inpatient and outpatient studies.
The Training Specialist, Central Clinical Operations is responsible for building and leading a scalable, network-wide clinical research training and onboarding infrastructure across Adams Clinical sites. This role serves as the central owner of training consistency, ensuring staff have the knowledge, resources, and demonstrated competencies required to execute high-quality, compliant clinical research.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Central Clinical Operations, this position combines hands-on training delivery, curriculum development, learning platform management, and process improvement to create scalable training solutions that support staff excellence, operational consistency, and successful study execution across the network.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Curriculum & LMS Development
Design and develop Learning Management System (LMS) modules for standardized training and onboarding across the network
Develop assessments and evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness and comprehension by clinical operations staff and support role-specific readiness and ongoing professional development across clinical operations teams
Create training materials and documentation (SOPs, checklists, guides, videos) with meticulous attention to clarity and usability
Lead adoption of new training and operational platforms (e.g., Monday.com, Trainual, and others), including hands-on development of platform workflows and content
Develop and implement systems to track training completion, competency milestones, and ongoing education requirements across clinical operations teams
Aid in the development of standardized onboarding tools for ClinOps roles, including onboarding trackers, role-specific training pathways, competency checklists, and 30/60/90-day development plans to support successful employee integration across clinical operations teams
Continuously evaluate onboarding effectiveness and improve processes based on feedback, performance trends, and operational needs
Site Training Delivery
Assess and document site-specific onboarding processes, clinical workflows, and training requirements across Adams Clinical locations. Develop a standardized onboarding framework that promotes consistency, operational excellence, and role readiness across the network
Coordinate training delivery across sites in collaboration with Site Managers and site operations by identifying required audiences, managing training schedules, tracking completion, and ensuring effective implementation of learning initiatives
Drive development of comprehensive trainings and re-trainings across the clinical operations network, ensuring consistency and adherence to regulatory and company standards
Conduct group re-trainings in person at Adams Clinical sites, with willingness to travel as needed to support site-specific learning needs
Partner with Site Managers and site operations to assess operational workflows, identify emerging knowledge gaps or training needs, and provide targeted education and support in response to performance trends, compliance findings, process changes, and evolving study requirements
Partner with site leadership to establish clear ownership of training responsibilities (e.g., central vs. site staff) while maintaining standardized expectations, materials, and competency requirements across the network
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with site teams and department heads to identify training gaps and opportunities for onboarding process improvement
Work with department heads across the network to ensure training requirements are being followed, and staff competency is maintained
Collaborate with VP of Clinical Operations to align training initiatives with network-wide operational priorities and quality standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) in industry-sponsored clinical trials
Experience or involvement in onboarding or training clinical research staff within a site or clinical research environment required
Basic understanding of clinical trial regulations (FDA, GCP, informed consent, SUSAR reporting, etc.) required
Willingness to travel to Adams Clinical sites as needed, with flexibility on primary work location contingent on candidate location and onboarding needs
Strong preference for candidates based on the East Coast and proximity to one of our network sites, with consistent travel (approximately 25-40%) to Adams Clinical sites (Boston, Watertown, Bronx, Harlem, Philadelphia, and Dallas) required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role
Self-starter mentality with ability to work independently on curriculum design, content development, and process documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and clarity
Excellent presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills with the ability to effectively train both individuals and groups
Comfort learning new platforms and technology systems independently
Ability to work across multiple stakeholder groups (clinical staff, department heads, management) to gather requirements and deliver training solutions
Experience in LMS platforms or training curriculum development preferred
Familiarity with project management or workflow automation tools preferred
Background in training, instructional design, education, or human resources preferred
Experience onboarding or training staff in fast-growing or multi-site organizations preferred
Pay: $70,000-90,000 salary range
Location: Remote; strong preference for candidates based on the East Coast and proximity to one of our network sites, with consistent travel (approximately 25-40%) to Adams Clinical sites required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role
