This is a rare opportunity to join a small, elite design team at a Series B AI-powered EdTech platform that reaches tens of millions of students across more than 30 countries. You'll work at the centre of a major shift toward AI-native product experiences, with direct access to C-level leadership to shape the product vision from day one. Your work will be seen — and felt — by millions of learners every day.
We're going all-in on design craft and AI-native experiences. If you believe details are the design, ship faster than you deck, and see AI as a genuine multiplier rather than a buzzword, this role is built for you.
Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. On-site in Berlin, Germany.
Own entire product areas end-to-end — from conception to delivery — working directly with C-level and engineering to ship ideas to millions of students within days.
Raise the quality bar on everything students see, touch, and feel — world-class UI, motion design, and micro-interactions that set a new standard.
Build and scale a design system from the ground up — curated references, stellar components, and sharp reviews that make quality easy to replicate across the team.
Pioneer AI-native design — develop AI-assisted workflows and AI-native product experiences that change how the team researches, ideates, and ships.
Set the reference point — create UIs students want to screenshot and details they feel but can't name.
Mentor and guide more junior designers, raising the collective craft of the team.
Required:
Several years of product design experience with a portfolio that demonstrates shipped work — work that moved metrics and delighted real users (portfolio matters more than tenure).
Actively uses AI tools across the full design loop: prototyping, research, and shipping — not experimenting, multiplying.
Systems thinker who scales quality across a product, not just a pretty component library — code-first design systems, AI-powered design reviews, whatever works at speed and scale.
Proven ability to simplify complex, messy user journeys into experiences that feel obvious.
Bias toward action: prototypes over presentations, experiments over endless debate.
Experience guiding and levelling up more junior designers.
Nice to Have:
Builder mentality — bonus if you've shipped a side project end-to-end or opened a merge request.
Background in consumer apps, EdTech, or fast-paced B2C environments.
Experience at companies like Quizlet, Khan Academy, Brainly, Memrise, Chegg, or similar consumer/EdTech products.
You won't be a fit if you:
Prefer slow deliberation over fast shipping.
Are sceptical of or resistant to AI tools in your workflow.
Work best as a solo, territorial artist rather than a team-first collaborator.
Default to decks and presentations rather than prototypes and experiments.
51–200 person company, growing fast across a global student audience.
Direct feedback culture — no preciousness, no territory.
Builders who ship: ideas go from concept to millions of users in days, not quarters.
AI is central to how the product is built and how the team works.
On-site in Berlin, Germany. This is not a remote role. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Be cautious! Do not send money to a potential employer. Do not pay any money for a potential contract of employment or for pre-employment training.
