Summary:
This role is essential for drafting temporary and final orders, managing discovery requests and responses, and preparing motions and supporting documents. The position involves calculating child support and creating inventory worksheets. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Texas-specific procedural requirements and local rules, while maintaining client-specific preferences and formatting. The role demands thorough cite-checking and proofreading to produce a clean, professional work product ready for attorney review.
Responsibilities:
Draft temporary and final orders
Prepare discovery requests and responses
Draft motions and supporting documents
Calculate child support and create inventory worksheets
Organize and review client-provided documents
Prepare discovery responses, including interrogatories, RFPs, and RFAs
Create privilege logs and coordinate document production
Track discovery deadlines
Ensure adherence to Texas-specific procedural requirements and local rules
Maintain client-specific preferences and formatting
Perform thorough cite-checking and proofreading
Track time in the project management system
Provide status updates on assigned projects
Flag issues for review
Maintain organized work files

Strongly Preferred:
Texas Certified Paralegal (or equivalent certification)Experience working virtually/remotely
Familiarity with Clio, MyCase, or similar practice management software
Experience with collaborative cloud tools
Experience with high-conflict or complex family law cases
Must-Have:
10+ years experience as a paralegal in Texas family law
Expertise in Texas family law practice
Deep knowledge of Texas Family Code and Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence
Familiarity with Texas local rules across multiple counties
Strong drafting skills (petitions, orders, discovery documents)
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PDF tools, and computer systems
Professional communication via email and occasional calls
Self-sufficient work style - can take a project and run with it
Reliable internet connection and antivirus software
Background check and skill testing required for candidates who pass initial interview. Only Texas residents will be considered.
